ABOUT US

 United by our differences

Within the UK and across large parts of Europe there remains a shortage of engineers with a marked diversity gap in engineering and STEM focused careers. Women and people from Black and Minority Ethnic Origins (BME) are under-represented in a male dominated sphere. StepUpTech seeks to engage under-represented groups by offering opportunities to explore and apply engineering through education, training, cultural exchange, knowledge and wealth transfer.

StepUpTech uses the UN Sustainable development goals to show young people the power of STEM to solve issues such as the climate crisis, health, and equality

Equity in STEM education

On 23 June 2020, the APPG launched the 'Equity in STEM education’ report. The report was published after a 15-month inquiry gathering and analysing evidence on whether the education system and schools provide equal opportunities for students of all ages to learn STEM subjects in England.

Who We Are

StepUpTech provides solutions to bring together these issues within one organisation and turn threats into lasting opportunities on both sides. We will work with schools, colleges and youth groups in the UK and potentially across Europe to bring to life what engineering means in a development context and then recruit and train women and BME aspiring engineers to ‘go global’.
